WEB’s 20/20 Challenge 2015!

i Jun 26th No Comments by

Fantastic news! WEB is in the process of launching it’s innovative new fundraising initiative…the 20/20 Challenge!

As of June 2015 WEB’s main source of funding from the Big Lottery will be coming to an end leaving a massive gap in monies for its main and core services. WEB has a passionate team of staff and volunteers who are striving to keep services as open and as vibrant as they have always been.

WEBs 20/20 Challenge is based on WEB celebrating its 20th birthday as a small local charity, serving the local and wider community of Wirral.  We have a small but hardworking team of 7 staff and approx 40 volunteers who deliver our community services and without support of organisations and individuals these services will fold.

So what can you do to help?

WEB aims to sign up 20 local companies who want to support a local charity, providing services to local people who may be struggling with a variety of complex needs.  WEB will give £200 to each company and they will have 12mths  to increase that £200 in a variety of ways e.g. 5 a side football competitions, darts matches, bake sales, race nights, fun runs –and whatever other creative ways they can think of!

At the end of the 12mths all funds will then be donated back to the charity to support the delivery of services to local people.  There is absolutely NO pressure to raise any particular amount-whatever is raised by each company will be greatly appreciated, it is about supporting local grass roots community services to grow, develop & thrive.

So what’s in it for organisations that take part?

We are going to have a public launch/photo shoot with all 20 companies once all 20 have signed up to the challenge (deadline for sign ups is 1st July 2015).  We have recently employed a new apprentice who will be dedicated to blogging/tweeting  and promoting any events that the 20 chosen companies are arranging. There will be a dedicated page on our website where news, events and challenges can be posted as well as a running commentary on our blog/twitter/facebook of funny stories, achievements and successes.  In approx 1 years time we will come together as a huge fundraising team to celebrate all the hard work and effort over the past 12 months. We will have a  dinner party celebration with awards, publicity photo shoot and acknowledgement of each  company’s individual  fundraising achievements.

Mini Challenge

The women and girls who use our service are never ones to shy away from a challenge and so alongside the 20 companies, WEB will also be running a mini challenge- signing up 20 staff/volunteers/service users who will be given £20 each, with a challenge for them to raise as much as they can over the 12 months. Please ask at WEB for more information!

What organisations need to do if they’d like to get involved

We are aiming to sign up approximately 20 organisations to the challenge so I am asking interested parties to contact me as soon as possible. If you would like some further information please contact WEB’s Training Manager Danielle Peloe on:
