Re-focusing of WEB’s Services

i Dec 22nd No Comments by

As most of you are aware WEB’s funding from the Big Lottery ended in June 2015.   This has meant a huge reduction in our staffing levels from 8 full time staff to 4.   As a team we have spent a considerable amount of time reviewing our services and listening to what people inform us has made the biggest impact for them. The overwhelming response we received was that ‘WEB’s TRAINING’ services have been invaluable to many people. Our clients have told us that they feel that WEB’s training in particular has been the service that has supported  them to improve their lives, and what has increased  their overall  health and well being the most.

This information has informed our decision around what WEB should be focusing it’s resources on. We have taken the decision to re-focus services to increase and vary training opportunities for our clients and community. WEB has an extensive waiting list for our range of health, well being & confidence building training including our Pathways 2M Powerment Programmes© and we feel privileged & excited to now be able to meet that need.

How will our services look in the future

WEB’s  Weekly Women’s Drop-In Services on Monday’s & Wednesdays will no longer be available. In place of this will be a variety of minimum 4 training sessions per month covering various topics of social, emotional health & well being. In addition to this we will still be delivering:

Women’s & Men’s Services:

  • 1-1 support & listening service (women only)
  • 1-1 Inductions to overall services
  • Therapeutic Counselling Services
  • A range of Confidence & Self-esteem Training

Children’s Services:

  • Weekly Young Women’s Group Activities & Training (age 9-18)
  • Weekly Young Boy’s Group Activities & Training (age 9-13)

Other Services:

  • We will also be delivering a rolling 5 week in-house basic confidence course
  • Pathways 2M Powerment Personal Development Programme
  • Beauty & holistic therapy events including aromatherapy massage etc
  • A range of other training both in house and within our community
WEB Activities Upcoming for 2016

WEB will be delivering a range of training including a host of mini courses in things such as, Introduction to Affirmations, Introduction to Coaching & The Art of Self-Love. All courses are delivered by friendly staff to small groups of the same sex. All training is fun and informal and not like school or college. We deliver in fun ways and any literacy issues aren’t a problem. Everything we do is at the clients pace and people can do it their way with no pressure. There’s tea and coffee available and occasionally a scrummy cake!! If you are interested in finding out more about upcoming training at WEB please see links below. All Courses to take place at 69 Gautby Road Birkenhead CH41 7DS.

WEB Awarded Police Commissioner “Putting Victims First” Funding

i Jan 21st No Comments by

We are delighted to announce that WEB was recently awarded £15,000 to develop and expand its fantastic work with victims of crime and continue to offer the vital support needed for survivors to recover.

Bernie, WEB’s Centre Manager said “We absolutely delighted to have been successful with our bid to the Victims Services and Restorative Justice Fund.

“We are a ‘user-led’ service charity and social enterprise who has been serving vulnerable adults and children for over 23 years.

“This year we will be celebrating our 20th birthday as a registered charity and what great news to help us celebrate.”

Ms Kennedy said: “Victims are at the heart of my police and crime plan and I am delighted that through these awards I can support a whole range of initiatives that are working to protect and care for those affected by crime in our region.

“This funding has been given to grassroots Merseyside organisations which are working with some of the most vulnerable people in our communities – child victims of sexual exploitation, survivors of domestic violence, sexual offences and hate crime – to help them cope, recover and rebuild their lives.

“These victims deserve the very best treatment and care and I am committing to ensure they receive it here.”
